Experience the Ultimate USA RV Roadtrip with Kids
Our incredible USA RV roadtrip with the kids is nearing its end, with only three days left. We’re determined to make these final days unforgettable! Our itinerary includes lounging at Mandalay Bay’s massive pool/beach, exploring the Las Vegas Strip, shopping at Caesar’s Palace, and the grand finale: a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon.
Mandalay Bay: A Paradise for Kids
Our kids can’t get enough of the pool at Mandalay Bay. But calling it a “pool” doesn’t do it justice. It’s no surprise that Tripadvisor has named Mandalay’s pool as one of the best in the USA. With 2,700 tons of sand and 1.6 million gallons of water, it’s also one of the largest pools in the country. The kids’ favorites are the wave pool, beach, and lazy river. As the evening temperature drops, we venture out to explore the strip, taking in the spectacular fire show at Mirage, dancing fountains at Bellagio, and the “clouds ceiling” at Caesar’s Palace shopping mall.
The Grand Finale: Helicopter Flight Over the Grand Canyon
On the last day of our amazing holiday, we’ve planned our “Grande Finale”: a helicopter flight from Boulder Airport (near Las Vegas), to Grand Canyon Airport and back. None of us have flown in a helicopter before, which adds to the excitement. A minivan takes us from the hotel to Boulder Airport. After safety instructions, we board the helicopter. The flight over Hoover Dam, the climb over a mountain, and the descent into the Grand Canyon following the Colorado River is simply breathtaking. The view from the sky is absolutely stunning, making us feel very tiny in comparison to the vastness of the Grand Canyon.
Las Vegas with Kids: Tips & Tricks
- Mandalay is a perfect hotel for kids: huge pool area, train to the Luxor, shark reef and (little) kids eat for free at the buffet.
- Don’t forget to explore the Strip, our kids loved: Mirage’s fire show, Bellagio’s fountains, Caesar’s mall, the minions, Mickey’s and Minnie’s on the streets.
- If you can afford a helicopter flight, don’t hesitate! It’s a unique experience! Kids under the age of two fly free.
