Discover the Balearic Islands with Kids: A Water Adventure

Experience a Boat Tour

Visiting the Balearic Islands for the first time? Or perhaps you’re returning and want to see a new side of these beautiful islands? One fantastic way to do this is by getting out on the water. The sea surrounding the Balearics offers numerous ways to explore and enjoy, and a boat tour can be a fun-filled adventure for the whole family.

These tours typically take you around the outer edges of the islands, and may even venture to smaller islets or out into open water for unspoiled ocean views. Many boat tours include snorkelling and scuba diving for older family members, or at least offer the opportunity to partake in these exciting activities.

There are boat tours available on every Balearic Island, each with their own unique twist. From dolphin spotting to historical tours to cave exploration, there’s a boat tour to suit every interest. This is a wonderful way to get to know these impressive islands, all from the water, ensuring your kids will be thoroughly entertained.

Surfing

Learning to surf might be a lifelong ambition for many adults who love the sea, so why not get the kids involved and tackle the waves when you visit the Balearic Islands? There are a host of small companies who have the skills and expertise to teach surfing at many different levels and age groups – so no need to deal with bored teenagers or left-out little ones!

While Ibiza might have a reputation as a party island, it has more to offer than that, with access to warm and calm waters suitable for all kinds of ocean lovers. Find a surf school and book a family lesson, or let your teenagers go off and make their own friends in the kids club groups. Meet up at lunchtime to show off your skills and enjoy a picnic together in the sun.

Many surf schools offer more than just surfing, such as boat excursions or kayak rentals, so that you can explore the coves around the islands.

Beach day

Of course, no list of ways to enjoy the water would be complete without spending time on one of the Balearic Islands’ many beautiful beaches and simply enjoying the water and sand. Binibeca Beach in Menorca is a lovely choice with its white sand and gentle sea, ideal for beachgoers and swimmers of all ages.

There is a beach bar here, as well as sunbeds. However, if you want to get more adventurous, you can simply hire an electric boat or a kayak and get out and enjoy the water even more.

Finding a beach with some amenities such as a snack bar or nearby shops is a great way to be able to make the most of an entire beach day. Pick up some snorkels for the kids and let them have fun – but make sure you check ahead of time to ensure the water is calm and safe for little paddlers.

Hitting the beach and enjoying the sea is one of the best parts of spending time in the Balearics. With these three amazing ways to make the most of the sun, sea and sand, you will be able to have the best and most memorable holiday with your little ones.
