Why We Love Las Vegas for Family Vacations
We absolutely adore Las Vegas! I first visited this vibrant city when I was 18 years old. However, the experience was somewhat limited due to age restrictions on alcohol and gambling. Fast forward to last summer, we made our fifth trip to Vegas, and it was our second time visiting with kids.
Many people don’t view Las Vegas as a family-friendly destination. After all, it’s known as Sin City, so what could it possibly offer to children? I beg to differ! There are a plethora of activities and attractions suitable for kids in Las Vegas. Let’s delve into our top 10 picks.
Top 10 Family-Friendly Activities in Las Vegas
1. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay
Believe it or not, even in the heart of Nevada’s desert, you can encounter sharks and crocodiles. Where, you ask? In Las Vegas, of course! Mandalay Bay houses a large aquarium that’s sure to fascinate the little ones.
Admission starts from $25.

4. Lazy River at Mandalay Bay: A Relaxing Retreat
During one of our family trips to Las Vegas, we stayed at the Mandalay Bay. This hotel boasts an expansive swimming pool landscape, complete with a beach, wave pool, and a delightful lazy river. We recommend buying a float for your kids on the Strip, as it’s much cheaper than purchasing one at the hotel. Your kids will love bobbing along the lazy river.

5. Experience the Thrill of Slotzilla Zipline at Fremont Street
Fremont Street, the old Las Vegas located downtown, is a must-visit, especially after dark. The street comes alive with a stunning light show that stretches across its entire length. The street performers are a delight to watch, but what truly amazes are the people “flying” across the street on the Slotzilla Zipline. This thrilling experience, suitable for older kids (13 and up) who aren’t afraid of heights, starts from a massive “fruit machine” and takes you on a zipline ride across Fremont Street, offering an incredible view.

6. Enjoy a Gondola Ride at The Venetian
Step into the square in front of the Venetian Hotel and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Venice. The adjacent mall lets you stroll through Italian streets and even offers gondola rides on the canals, a fun experience for the kids.

7. Marvel at the Bellagio Fountains
The famous fountains in front of the Bellagio hotel are a sight to behold. Starting from 11 o’clock, you can enjoy a mesmerizing “show” of music and “dancing” fountains. It’s so captivating that even the most restless kids will watch in absolute silence.

8. Snap a Photo with Your Favorite Characters
Costumed street performers are a common sight on every street corner. For a few dollars, you can get a photo with your favorite characters. Whether it’s Mickey and Minnie Mouse or Batman, it’s an experience your kids will remember for a long time.

9. Take a Helicopter Flight Over the Grand Canyon
While it’s not the cheapest outing, a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon is an unforgettable experience. The tour starts with a flight over the Hoover Dam, followed by a journey into the Grand Canyon. As you follow the Colorado River and fly through two massive mountains, you’ll be left breathless. It’s an awe-inspiring experience that will leave your kids spellbound.
Price: Starts from $375 per person
10. Thrills at Stratosphere for the Adventurous
At the beginning of the Strip, you’ll find the Stratosphere. This hotel boasts a 350-meter high tower, home to a variety of thrilling attractions. However, these are more suitable for older kids. Attractions like The Bigshot, Insanity, X-Scream, or Skyjump are perfect for those who love heights and speed. The names say it all – these attractions are for the brave at heart.

Experience The Park Vegas
Have you heard of The Park Vegas? It’s a new outdoor entertainment district, an expansive open-air space right on the strip. Here, you can eat, drink, and enjoy culture and entertainment. It’s a perfect spot to visit with the kids.
